The Orchestra

The Albury Wodonga Symphony Orchestra (AWSO) is a vibrant orchestra made up of some of Albury Wodonga’s most professional, semi-professional, and passionate hobbyist musicians. Meeting weekly, AWSO combines dedication and skill to create inspiring performances that enrich the cultural life of our region.

Committed to artistic excellence and community connection, AWSO showcases the beauty of orchestral music, from classical masterpieces to contemporary works. As a cornerstone of the local arts scene, it offers musicians opportunities to collaborate, grow, and contribute to the cultural fabric of Albury Wodonga.

Rehearsals run with the New South Wales school term.

Artistic Director

AWSO aims to present three captivating concert programs each year, each led by an exceptional artistic director who will bring their unique vision to the stage. Our rotating leadership model ensures that every performance offers a fresh and distinctive experience for both the orchestra and its audience.

Our launch program will be conducted by AWSO’s founding conductor, Jessie Swan.

Jessie Swan is a local musician, conductor and artistic director in the Albury/Wodonga region. She is involved in various musical ensembles including the Moodemere Quartet.

Jessie has studied under seasoned professionals such as Fabian Russell, Michael Loftus-Hills and Simone Slattery as a conductor and musician.

Jessie’s rehearsal style is sophisticated and refined. Her artistic flare and her passion for music will be prominent in the music she has selected for the Albury Wodonga Symphony Orchestra to perform.
