The Albury Wodonga Symphony Orchestra was so grateful to have Justin Clancy, MP, introduce us at our inaugural concert in May.
Justin’s support hasn’t stopped there, though. On the 28th of May 2025, Mr Justin Clancy MP had the opportunity to speak in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly where he acknowledged the achievements of the AWSO committee, members and all involved in A Community Recognition Statement.

You can see Justin speak here, and his words can be read below:
I acknowledge and celebrate the re-establishment of the Albury Wodonga Symphony Orchestra [AWSO], a cherished cultural institution in our region known for its richness, complexity and emotional depth. The AWSO brings together dedicated musicians from across Albury-Wodonga and the wider area, including some who travel from as far as Myrtleford, united by their passion for orchestral music and their commitment to our community. Special recognition goes to President Jessie Swan, Vice-President Tara Chambers, Secretary Katie Clarke and the entire team, whose leadership, vision and passionate hard work have brought the orchestra back to life. Their efforts ensure that great orchestral music continues to be accessible and celebrated in our local communities. The concert held on Saturday 17 May was a wonderful evening. I thank the AWSO for its inspiring role in enriching our region with music. Its contribution continues to deepen and strengthen the cultural life of Albury-Wodonga.
We cannot thank Justin enough for his continued support of the Albury Wodonga Symphony Orchestra.
